Get started with billing and plans
Billing belongs to your account, not to a workspace. Your choice of how to pay applies to every workspace whose billing owner you are, the earliest owner of each. There are three ways to pay: Free, with hard limits and nothing billed; a monthly plan, Starter, Pro or Scale, with a fixed fee and a quota per workspace; and pay as you go, with no fee, where everything you use is metered by the hour. Payments are processed by Paddle, our merchant of record.
Plans or pay as you go
| Free | Plan | Pay as you go | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly fee | None | Starter, Pro or Scale | None |
| Payment method | Not needed | Needed | Needed |
| Each workspace gets | The Free quota | The plan's quota | What you use, metered |
| Usage charges | None: anything with a price is refused | Metered products, on top of the fee | Everything, by the hour |
| Spending limit | None: the quota is the limit | None | A monthly limit |
| Teams and invitations | Need a paid plan | Included | Need a paid plan |
On a plan, metered products such as load balancers of a paid tier and Kubernetes workers of a paid size are billed by the hour on top of the fee. Prices for plans and metered products are on the pricing page.
1. Choose how you pay
Open Account → Billing. Under How you pay:
- Tick I agree to the Terms of Service and the Refund Policy.
- Select Choose Starter, Choose Pro or Choose Scale for a plan, or Choose Pay as you go.
- The secure checkout opens: add the card that pays. The plan applies as soon as the payment is confirmed, usually within seconds.
Moving to a bigger plan starts at once, and a smaller one at your next renewal: the Billing page shows the amount and the date before you confirm. Switch to Free cancels at the end of the current period. See Plans and pay as you go.
2. Watch the month
- This month, on Account → Billing, estimates the calendar month so far at list prices: the plan's fee and each metered product, such as load balancers, Kubernetes workers and Kubernetes storage.
- Usage, in each workspace, lists that workspace's metered lines for the month, resource by resource, with an estimate wherever a price is set.
Both are estimates and exclude tax. Usage is metered by the hour and charged with your monthly renewal, after the month ends; the invoice is the actual amount, with tax.
3. Keep payments working
- Payment methods lists your cards: the one marked Default pays, and Replace switches to another.
- Invoices lists every charge, with Download PDF for paid ones.
- Manage billing changes your billing address, company name and tax ID.
- On pay as you go, a monthly spending limit caps what can be charged.
What it costs
Free costs nothing. A plan costs its monthly fee, plus the metered products you use; pay as you go costs only what you use, by the hour. Prices are in US dollars and exclude tax, which is added where it applies. They are on the pricing page.
With PromptOps
PromptOps reads a workspace's usage for anyone in it:
- "What did this workspace use this month, and what does it cost at list prices?"
- "Which resource costs the most this month?"
It never changes plans, payment methods or invoices: those stay in the console.
With the API or MCP
A token reads a workspace's metered lines for a month, with an estimate at list prices:
curl "https://api.sahabti.com/v1/usage/ledger?orgId=$WORKSPACE_ID&month=2026-10" \
-H "x-api-key: $SAHABTI_TOKEN"
It lists only the lines of what the token may read. Over MCP, the same is get_usage_ledger. Plans, payments and invoices are in the console only.
First checks
- How you pay shows the plan you chose, and no banner says a payment failed.
- Payment methods has a card marked Default.
- This month shows the usage you expect, and each workspace's Usage lists its metered lines.
